This is a view of the shop from the store doorway. I've got an extension table on the table saw as well as a roller stand to make it easy to manage large pieces. There's a Total Shop ambient dust collector on the ceiling. A lumber rack bolted to the wall is on the right. The shop is 30 feet long and 12.5 feet wide. It's just a little larger than a one car garage.
This is a view of the shop from the back door. To the right is a work bench that I have on lockable wheels. That's my primary work surface.
Another shot of the mobile bench. I have my mortising tool on the right as well as my chop saw. I have the table on the mortising tool lined up with the extension tables on the chop saw for maximum length. The lumber storage over the chop saw is primarily frame stock. Straight ahead is a portable planer and a drum sander. Both on wheels to pull out into the work area when needed. The drill press is also bolted down to a mobile bench. On the drill press I have one of those Rockler tables. It was a great investment.
This is my lathe. It's about 20 years old. I've certainly gotten my money's worth out of it over the years.
This is the guts of my shop. It's a 3hp Unisaw with a 30" fence. On the left side I have a sliding table worth it's weight. Cutting the cabinet panels with this was a snap. To the right I have a Router Table with a precision router lift. I also have a downdraft chute connected to the dust collector. I have an Incra Router Fence the I use on conjunction with the table saw fence. I simply slide out the saw fence, reverse the bracket and slide in the Incra. (I bolted the Incra to the old Unisaw fence)
This is my dust collector. It's built by Oneida. It does an awesome job and it's reasonably quiet. I've also got a sanding station there to the right on a bench that also has wheels.
This is the command center here in the back corner of the shop. The compressor is under the bench completely out of the way but still accessible when needed. I've got an old computer there that I mostly use as a jukebox. I copied all of my record albums and now have about 40 hours of non stop music on the hard drive. It's a little slow but it's handy when I want to access a web site on the web as well.
