Tool Companies and Suppliers

This is a list of some of the tool companies whose products I've purchased over the years or at the very least have been very intrigued with. I've always tried to promote American built but these days it's quite a bit harder.

Festool Junkie:  A Festool Dealer with everything Festool. A really cool web site with the entire collection of Festool equipment as well as some helpful tips on what to consider when buying a tool. Free shipping on orders of $25 or more. Definately worth a visit to view some fine German Engineering. .

Black and Decker: A familiar name in most households.

Delta Machinery:  Makers of some of the finest woodworking machinery available. The Unisaw and 14 inch bandsaw are industry standards copied by many of the leading importers.

Dewalt: A  name associated with the finest Radial Arm Saw money could  buy. The company no longer makes the Radial Arm saw but,  their line of power tools will be every bit as legendary.

Dremel:  The Dremel Rotary tool has loads of uses and is a handy tool  to have in the shop. The line expands to a scroll saw very  popular with hobbyists.

Eagle America: They carry a line of American made router bits, jigs, blades and  assorted tools and accessories.

Forrest Saw Blades (3D Table Saw Blades) I've gone to a number of shows and watched the demos. I finally decided to give them a shot. I thought the price was a little much but after a years worth of use, this is the finest blade I have ever used. The only time I take it out of the saw is to use the dado blade. The edges are so smooth, I don't use a jointer anymore.

Jet: Originally a manufacturer of Delta clones, they have really come in to  their own in recent years offering a good line of imported tools.

Jimmy-Jig: Seumas Mccombie has been promoting his product pretty hard. Jimmy Jig is a fence system. It's self engineered and looks pretty well constructed. I wish him the best on his venture. The page not only has a detail description with photo's of the Jimmy Jig, but links as well.

Lie-Nielsen Toolworks: Located in Maine are makers of some beautiful hand tools. In fact hand tools is an understatement. These are heirloom quality pieces of art.

Porter Cable: An excellent supplier of professional level tools. Their belt sanders are the standard in any wood shop.

Performax: They set the standard for small shop drum sanders. They have a  broad line of large commercial drum sanders as well.

Powermatic: A  manufacturer of commercial grade stationary tools, now owned  by Jet, but still marketed under the Powermatic name.

Ridge Carbide Tool Manufacturing: They manufacture blades, cutters, router bits.

Stanley: They have been making hand tools for a long time. I doubt there’s a workshop around that doesn’t have a Stanley tool of some kind in it. Their pneumatic line of Bostich nailers is known for durability and performance.

Whiteside Machine Company A family owned company. If you want to check out prices, routerbits.com has an extensive selection, excellent service too.
